Feel the air come in and out of your lungs. Don’t force the air in and out of you. If you feel stressed just think of the God and how he has made himself known to you and let Him sooth you as you feel calmed. If you have tense muscles just try and feel the love that God has for you and know that you are on His earth. You are breathing His air into your lungs right now. Know that He loves you and suffered for your sins and he knows you and loves you. On that note we are going to appreciate 1 thing he has done for us.

Bible verse for meditation:
James 1:5-8
NABRE
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom,* he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it.c
6 But he should ask in faith, not doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind.d
7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord,
8 since he is a man of two minds, unstable in all his ways.

KJV
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

What does this scripture mean to you?
Has it had a different effect this reading as compared to times past?
How does this scripture make you feel?

Continue breathing deeply as you ponder this meaning.

Meditation on scripture / bible verse meditation:
Last week’s discussion focused on the verses that immediately preceded these verses. James taught that we should be willing to accept the temptation or trials which we find our lives in. It seems very intentional that one of the most direct scriptures that has us ask understanding from God is prefaced by this idea. Learning from God’s word is not something we can casually stroll by and grab on our rush to something else. Many times it is the trials and temptations that we experience that put our hearts in a place to be ready to receive from God. If we are mindful, no trial needs be waster. No question squandered.
This scripture says that God will teach as long as we come to him humbled with a broken heart and a contrite spirit as David says, as well if we let your trials teach us patience. When we are in this place we are ready to ask God and James teaches that he will be generous and will not get us in trouble for our questions. He will bless us with understanding. James also says that another factor that influences how God chooses to answer is our faith. When there are things about God that we don’t understand and we hubly approach Him in faith, He can guide us.
Take a moment to reflect on your current and past trials.
In what way have these trials prepared you for the questions you consider?
Do you believe that God will answer?
The answers of God many times do not come in the ways that we request or expect but He can teach us powerful truths through overcoming trials as well other movings of the Holy Spirit.
Meditation of Prayer:
Pray as directed by the Spirit.
Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him.

Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm:
I invite you to sit in silence feeling being patient for your own faults and trials.

Meditate and Visualize Positive Change in Your Life:
This part is very important. It is no accident that scripture is so full of narratives. Our minds connect with narratives. Imagine a visualization of a Narrative of your life knowing the truths from this scripture.
Now visualize someone or a group of people who need this message. Imagine what their face would look like as they receive this scripture in their hearts. Imagine how you can share it with them.
Conclusion:
Homework: What question do you have, and how can you be patient for God’s answer?
Feedback:
I have been working through several episodes over the last few months. I am enjoying the meditations tremendously. I have been a Christian Counselor for 30+ years. I very much need a few minutes regularly to center my spirit in Christ, breathe in his love and strength, and let his Word sink in. You have created a beautiful method- and I thank you. I have sent many of my clients to your website, and they giving me great feedback about their experiences. Bless you, your work, and your family.
