Bible verse for meditation:

NIV
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
blessed is the one who trusts in you.

KJV
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Meditation on scripture / bible verse meditation:

A perplexing fact of spending so much time near the veil between life and death is that people catch glimpses to the other side. When I worked in the hospital people would tell me of what they experienced when their body was temporarily dead. I head things that had never been told to another living person. Now in my work in hospice I see people reaching out to people who can’t be seen. Just this week I watched as a man who is preparing to transition to the next life through death spoke to beings that I couldn’t see.

This has spurred my interest in learning more of the near death experiences of others. One thing that I have head is that as the spirit leaves the body that the person is filled with peace. As the approach the light, that is God, they experience a profound and inexplicable love. Many people are changed by this experience with such pure and incomprehensible love. When I read things like this scripture I reflect on this experience of love.

Even moments with God are better than a lifetime on this earth without him. The most glorious thing of all is that we don’t have to choose. God has offered us a seat in His kingdom. Because of the the Love of God we have been made joint heirs with Christ. He will not withhold any good thing from those on whom His Spirit dwells.

Final Question: When is a time where you have most felt the Love of God?

Very few people are given a glimpse into heaven. Perhaps this is a blessing because then our hearts would constantly yearn to feel more of that love in this life. Fortunately or unfortunately, most of us rely on faith. As we learn to live with God and open our hearts in faith to Him, we can feel touches of this in this life until we can proclaim as this scripture does that we would willingly serve as the most lowly servant in heaven just to be able to spend time with him. As we ponder how wonderful this will be we better understand the love of God. He invites us to have all that He has. I know from so many different interactions, that when we die we will finally understand how much he loves us. We will see those we love and we will see God and be caught forever in His love.
